Aesthetic clinics often remove moles and skin tags with a laser or radio wave in one visit — but that is not always the right call
Before anything comes off the skin, someone has to work out what it actually is, and for some growths that decision belongs to a dermato-oncologist, not a cosmetologist. We chose not to remove anything ourselves: an examination and dermatoscopy first, then a clear next step.
What to expect
Examination
A dermatologist examines the growth by eye and under a dermatoscope — a magnifying, specially lit instrument that shows the structure of a mole or papilloma far more clearly than the naked eye can
Conclusion
After the exam the doctor tells you what the growth is and what kind it is
If it needs attention, we do not wait and see “just in case”
Referral
If removal is indicated and safe, we refer you to the specialist who performs it
If the growth needs no intervention, we say that plainly too, with no procedure attached

The essentials, answered
Do you remove moles or papillomas?
No. We do neither, by any method — not laser, not radio wave. We examine, diagnose with dermatoscopy, and if removal is needed and safe, refer you to a specialist who performs it themselves.
Then why come to you instead of going straight to a removal clinic?
Because until it is examined, no one knows what the growth actually is or what should be done about it. Dermatoscopy narrows that down and turns “go get something removed somewhere” into a clear next step — exactly where and why, or an honest answer that nothing needs to be touched.
How do I know if a mole is dangerous?
There are general signs worth noting: asymmetry, an uneven border, uneven colour, a diameter over 6mm, any change in size, shape or sensation over a short time. That is a reason to see a doctor, not to self-diagnose — only an examination, including under a dermatoscope, gives a real answer.
Can I remove a skin tag myself — with thread, or a pharmacy product?
We would not recommend it. Home removal does not tell you what you were dealing with, can cause inflammation, and can complicate diagnosis later if the growth turns out to need attention. Seeing a doctor before, not instead of that, is the right order.
How much does the examination cost?
A dermatologist appointment with dermatoscopy is ₽3,000. It includes the examination, diagnosis with the instrument, and the doctor's conclusion with next steps.
