The diagnosis first, then aesthetics
Dermatology is the branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of conditions of the skin, hair and nails
Unlike aesthetic medicine, it works not with appearance but with the cause: the doctor makes a diagnosis and prescribes treatment.
What to expect
Examination and history
The doctor examines the skin and takes your history:
when it started, what preceded it, what you have already tried. The cause is often found right here
Diagnostics
If needed, we order laboratory tests
Without a diagnosis, treatment turns into trial and error—that is not how we work
The treatment plan
An individual plan with current medical, injectable and device-based methods
Plus at-home care guidance
Your doctor will tell you what fits at your consultation
Indications
For anyone troubled by changes in their skin, hair or nails—especially if the condition does not resolve on its own or returns after self-treatment. Changes in moles and any new growths call for a doctor’s examination first of all.
Sound familiar? Let’s talk it through in person
Your doctor will examine your skin, tell you honestly whether this method is right for you, and put together a plan. A consultation commits you to nothing
Indications are not yet a protocol
Your doctor tailors the area, number of sessions and settings to your skin. Three questions and we’ll name your protocol, price included
The essentials, answered
How is a dermatologist different from an aesthetic physician?
A dermatologist treats conditions of the skin, hair and nails: makes a diagnosis and, where needed, orders tests and prescribes medication. An aesthetic physician works with appearance. At RE/FACE the two complement each other—an aesthetic goal is often only reachable once the underlying condition has been treated.
When should I see a dermatologist rather than an aesthetic physician?
If you have rashes, itching, redness, flaking, new growths or a mole that has changed—see a dermatologist first. Aesthetic treatments on inflamed or undiagnosed skin can do harm.
What should I bring to the appointment?
The results of any previous tests you have, and a list of the products you have been using. It is best not to wear makeup on the day of the appointment.

When not to put the visit off
A mole has changed color, shape or size; a new growth has appeared; a wound has not healed for over a month; a rash is spreading quickly. In these cases book an appointment without waiting for a convenient moment—early diagnosis decides more than any later treatment.
Not sure whether your case is urgent?
We remove not the sign, but the cause
We bring together classic dermatology and modern aesthetic medicine—which makes it possible to resolve the medical problem and improve skin quality at the same time
We do not mask the problem, we work with its cause.
